Strong solutions in the dynamical theory of compressible fluid mixtures

چکیده
In this paper we investigate the compressible Navier-Stokes-Cahn-Hilliard equations (the so-called NSCH model) derived by Lowengrub and Truskinowsky. This model describes the ow of a binary compressible mixture; the uids are supposed to be macroscopically immiscible, but partial mixing is permitted leading to narrow transition layers. The internal structure and macroscopic dynamics of these layers are induced by a Cahn-Hilliard law that the mixing ratio satis es. The PDE constitute a strongly coupled hyperbolic-parabolic system. We establish a local existence and uniqueness result for strong solutions. Mathematics Subject Classi cation 2000: 76D05, 76N10, 35D35, 35K35

The Dynamical Systems Approach to the Equations of a Linearly Viscous Compressible Barotropic Fluid
We develop a dynamical systems theory for the compressible Navier-Stokes equations based on global in time weak solutions. The following questions will be addressed: • Global existence and critical values of the adiabatic constant; • dissipativity in the sense of Levinson bounded absorbing sets; • asymptotic compactness; • the long-time behaviour and attractors. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classif...
متن کاملCorrelation of Viscosity of Aqueous Solutions of Alkanolamine Mixtures Based on the Eyring's Theory and Wong-Sandler Mixing Rule
A viscosity model, based on Eyring’s absolute rate theory combined with a cubic PR equation of state and Wong-Sandler mixing rule, has been proposed in order to correlate viscosities of aqueous solutions of alkanolamine mixtures at atmospheric pressure and different temperatures. In the proposed method, the energy and size parameters in studied Equation of State (EoS) have been obtained usi...
متن کاملExistence and Uniqueness of Strong Solutions for a Compressible Multiphase Navier-Stokes Miscible Fluid-Flow Problem in Dimension
We prove the global existence and uniqueness of strong solutions for a compressible multifluid described by the barotropic Navier-Stokes equations in dim = 1. The result holds when the diffusion coefficient depends on the pressure. It relies on a global control in time of the L norm of the space derivative of the density, via a new kind of entropy. §
متن کاملA Dynamical System Approach to Research in Second Language Acquisition
Epistemologically speaking, second language acquisition research (SLAR) might be reconsidered from a complex dynamical system view with interconnected aspects in the ecosystem of language acquisition. The present paper attempts to introduce the tenets of complex system theory and its application in SLAR. It has been suggested that the present dominant traditions in language acquisition research...
متن کاملSteady compressible heat-conductive fluid with inflow boundary condition
In this paper, we study strong solutions to the steady compressible heat-conductive fluid near a non-zero constant flow with the Dirichlet boundary condition for the velocity on the inflow and outflow part of the boundary. We also consider the Dirichlet boundary condition for the temperature, and we do not need the thermal conductivity coefficient κ to be large. The existence of strong solution...
